2011 – 2012 NEW YORK STATE HOSA OFFICERS

President: Takisha Morancy - William H. Maxwell
My name is Takisha Morancy. I was born on May 11, 1994, which at times lies on Mother's Day. I am a Health Occupations major and I am also a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist. My idea of leisure time is sitting on the couch with my family watching movies, eating chinese takeout and filling the room with laughter. I enjoy all types of music such as R&B, Pop, Rock and Classical music.
My main goal as President is to establish a stronger connection between our local chapters throughout the whole academic school year so NY State HOSA may become more unifed as a whole. In the end I'm just a laid back girl who always keeps a smile on her face.

Some of my interests includes writing, politics, art, and music. My favorite band is Modest Mouse. My idea of fun is attending concerts, relaxing with family and reading on philosphy.
I have always wanted to travel the world by the back of a train. As of now my career goal is to become a Registered Nurse. My life time goal is to gain a balance in life. I am not exactly sure of who I am, but I hope to find out.

My career goal is to become a Pediatric Surgeon someday. I spend most of my time listening to all different types of music such as alternative, reggae, R&B, and much more.
I enjoy spending time with diverse people and my love ones such as family and close friends. I work at the Central Park Zoo and consider myself very independent. I like to remember that no matter how hard things may seem, anything is truly possible if you believe in yourself and work hard enough to achieve it!
Secretary and Region E Vice President - Brianna Hofert
Genesee Valley BOCES
Hello, my name is Brianna Hofert, your 2011-2012 NYS HOSA Secretary and Region E Vice President. I am now a senior at Elba Central School and a second year student of the Health Dimensions program from the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership, Batavia BOCES campus, making me the current age of 17. At the end of my senior year, I shall achieve my CNA license and further my nursing studies at the Genesee Community College or a local college in Florida, becoming a Registered Nurse.
I've been the captain of the Elba cheerleading squad and have been involved with this sport since I was a child. I have also participated in the summer soccer program since a child as well. I've been on both the Jr. and Senior high National Honor Society, as well as other clubs including S.A.D.D. and spirit club. I love the outdoors, meeting new people, music, art, and most importantly my family, friends, and animals. Lastly, I'd simply have to conclude how honored I am to be given the opportunity to serve as a HOSA State Officer!

Treasurer and Region A Vice President - Mohammed Kaba
Academy of Medical Technology
My name is Mohammed Kaba. I am your 2011-2012 HOSA Treasurer and Region A Vice President. I am currently attending The Academy of Medical Technology. I watch movies and draw on my free time. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I respect everyone because I expect people to treat me the same way. I feel like everyone has the quality to do better, so I encourage them as much as I can.
I am planning on being a psychologist after noticing that many of my friends had a hard time figuring out how to handle their problems. As a HOSA member, I want to let people know that although life gets harder as we get older, that doesn't mean we have to give up. Instead it is a challenge that we have to overcome.
