​Healthcare Scavenger Hunt
8:30am - 9:00am
Join the Healthcare Scavenger Hunt, hosted by Clarkson University's Lewis School of Health and Life Sciences! This workshop offers an exciting opportunity to solve clues, explore careers in Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, and Physical Therapy, and engage in hands-on activities. Learn about healthcare technology, analyze bones and muscles, and even test your grip strength. When you complete the hunt successfully, you'll have the chance to enter a raffle for an exciting prize!
3B Scientific 
​SAM4 Auscultation Lab
9:00 am - 9:30am
I will conduct an Auscultation lab with our SAM4 manikin.  Students will be able to listen to heart, lung, bowel, and bruit sounds via a real stethoscope.  They will be able to identify and locate the auscultation sites of each sound via a Red LED light marker on the manikin.  A real stethoscope and alcohol wipes for in-between use will be available.  Students can bring their own stethoscope if they own one.​

Pitch Perfect: Building your HOSA Pitch

Interested in building your pitch skills? Then this workshop is for you! Interact with your fellow HOSA members and learn how to build various elevator speeches through pitching HOSA to various special guests. Gain confidence in delivering compelling messages, refine your communication techniques, and leave with practical skills that will help you stand out in any professional setting!

​Analyzing Nutritional Status and Body Composition - Dr. Lindsay Burwell
 10:00am - 10:30am
This body composition and nutritional status workshop is an engaging and informative event tailored to learn about the fundamentals of nutrition associated with health. Participants will explore essential concepts related to body composition, including the different types of body fat, muscle mass, and overall health indicators. Through hands-on activities, students will gain practical experience in nutritional analysis how nutritional status is monitored. By the end of the workshop, attendees will understand how understanding nutritional status and needs are fundamental to health and wellness.

Introduction to ARES Simulation Manikins: Fundamental Assessment Techniques

​What is the Weight Bearing Lunge Test (WBLT) and how can it be used for injury prevention?
10:30 am - 11:00am
Students will receive an introduction to the ARES Simulation Manikins and will be instructed on how to locate the pulse, detect the heartbeat using the Synthoscope, assess lung sounds to differentiate between obstructed and unobstructed airways, and evaluate light reactivity in the eyes.

​Students will learn how to use a simple clinical tool, the Weight Bearing Lunge Test (WBLT), to assess lower extremity function.  They will identify potential lower leg asymmetries and discuss how those functional differences could impact injury risk.  Finally, students will see a few rehabilitation interventions that might be used to address WBLT asymmetries.   ​

The Respiratory Therapy Workshop is to share and define what our profession entails and to connect attendees with resources needed to select this field as a career option. This presentation includes an outline/overview of the role of the RT through powerpoint, as well as breakout sessions where attendees can rotate through hands-on stations with different activities.
