Mohammad Shafquat

Parliamentarian

Welcome back New York State HOSA! My name is Mohammad Shafquat, and I will be your 2026-2027 state Parliamentarian. I would not have expected to be a state officer when I joined my school’s HOSA my sophomore year. As of right now, I am a senior at Clarkstown North High School. Aside from my involvement in HOSA, I am on the board for my local EMS Youth Corps, and I’m working on research regarding biological aging. Beyond that, some things I enjoy are going to the gym, reading, building legos, and going down the rabbit hole for anything that I want to learn about, no matter how trivial. In the future, I plan on going to medical school, my primary interest being emergency medicine. I am excited to meet you all, and I hope to make this year invaluable in memories and knowledge gained!

Duties of the Parliamentarian

It shall be the duty of the Parliamentarian

• to serve as an authority and consultant to the presiding officer at all Association meetings and rule on the points of order
• call attention to all errors in procedure as observed
• maintain for reference, and supply on demand suitable parliamentary references and the Association Bylaws
• to serve the Association in any capacity as directed by the President.
