Safi Asafi

Senior Vice President

Hello New York HOSA! My name is Safi Asafi, and I am honored to serve as your 2026-2027 New York State Senior Vice President. I am a current senior at Thomas A. Edison CTE High School in Queens. I have been in HOSA for 3 years. My current goal is to pursue a career in psychiatry or in biotechnology, bridging the gap between medical advancements and technological competencies for the betterment of mankind, while pursuing my interests in  biochemistry while helping others. I am currently in the medical assisting CTE program for my school, gaining hands-on experience in the medical field while earning my medical assisting certificate. I am currently president of my school’s Urban Health Innovations Club, helping to spread medical awareness and opportunities for students. I also have internships at Columbia University’s NY Bioforce program and at New York Presbyterian Hospital. I like to play soccer and badminton for fun and read Seinen and psychological mangas in my free time. Above all else I can’t wait to meet you all and grow together! Don’t hesitate to contact me.

Duties of the Senior Vice President

It shall be the duty of the Senior Vice President

• to serve in any capacity as directed by the President
• assume the duties of the President in the event that office becomes vacant
• preside over Association meetings in the absence of the President
• coordinate the activities of the Regional Vice President
• to serve as chairperson of the Nominating Committee
• to serve on the Board of Trustees
