Welcome back HOSA Members! I hope you are all excited for a brand new year! I’m Rihanna Qiu, your 2025-2026 President. I am a senior at Thomas A. Edison CTE High School, currently enrolled in the Medical Assisting Program. I currently work as a Radiologist Technologist Aide at Radnet Radiology as well as volunteer at local Blood Drives. My experiences in healthcare showed me how language, cultural, and financial barriers can leave patients feeling overlooked, leading to mistrust or avoidance of care. I want to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant with the goal of fostering stronger lines of communication between patients and providers to help overcome these barriers. With this in mind, I hope to create a community which values communication, mentorship, and allows all members to grow. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, playing volleyball or badminton with my friends, writing poetry, and doing nail art. I can’t wait to get to know and grow with all of you this year. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
