Senior Vice President

Salutations, future health professionals and champions of change! My name is Sureeta Das, and I am honored to serve as your 2025-2026 New York State Senior Vice President! I am a senior at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, and I have been doing HOSA for three years. I am currently the president of the American Red Cross chapter at my school and help host medical awareness events in my school district, as well as onboard S.T.E.M. professionals for a club I founded called S.T.E.M. Connections. Outside of school, I am currently a Psychiatric Medical Assistant at a local clinic, as well as a volunteer at Upstate Medical University, Crouse Hospital’s cardiac center, Mother Teresa’s Orphanage, and a local senior center. A goal of mine is to pursue a career in medicine, specifically as a cardiothoracic surgeon or an anesthesiologist. Through being a physician, I aspire to bridge healthcare disparities around the world through involvement in public health initiatives, research, and community service programs. Some things I like to do for fun include doing Indian Classical Dance, Taekwondo as a 2nd degree black belt, and reading (dystopian) novels. I am excited to learn, lead, serve, innovate, and most importantly, grow with all of the New York State members. Please come to me with any questions or if you want to make a friend!

Duties of the Senior Vice President

It shall be the duty of the Senior Vice President
  • to serve in any capacity as directed by the President
  • assume the duties of the President in the event that office becomes vacant
  • preside over Association meetings in the absence of the President
  • coordinate the activities of the Regional Vice President
  • to serve as chairperson of the Nominating Committee
  • to serve on the Board of Trustees
